Although our home was 98 years old, we had not attempted the greatly needed improvements in over 50 years. In the spring of 2017, we walked into your showroom, and it took us very little time to decide we had found our remodeler. Our new kitchen and two bathrooms far exceeded our expectations. They are modern and completely respectful of the age of the home. These original creations are full of modern comforts and efficiencies. Your staff are so skilled, so courteous, perform such consistent and diligent work, and clean up the area so regularly that we are unable to single out any one individual for praise. In 2005, we purchased a home originally constructed in 1966 with an uninspired kitchen that was last renovated sometime in the 1980s. The kitchen was small and separated from an adjacent formal dining room that was rarely used. We envisioned a new kitchen unifying the two spaces and capitalizing on the potential views to our treasured backyard terraced garden. We agreed we needed to engage a kitchen planner to help us realize our vision.

After conferring with several prospects, we were most comfortable with Wisconsin Kitchen Mart. We were expertly guided through the process of design, including goal setting, concept design, setting and maintaining a realistic budget, careful examination of existing conditions, preparing/presenting design options for our review, and setting schedule milestones.

WKM led the entire construction phase, and the scope of construction work included demolition, new wood flooring, refinishing of existing wood flooring, new wall framing, drywall finishes, cabinetry and countertop installation, plumbing, electrical, and light fixture and appliance installation. Additionally, careful coordination was required for the installation of an under-counter induction stove. The quality of construction was performed to the highest standard of workmanship in all trades. The work was carefully coordinated to minimize disruption to our home life during the construction phase. The project was completed on time and without additional costs beyond our budget.

WKM brought expertise and professionalism in both the design and construction phases. Based on our experience, we enthusiastically recommend WKM to anyone contemplating a project similar to ours.

We realized that although we love our home, our kitchen needed serious renovations. We contacted designers and contractors to give us design advice and approximate estimates. After speaking with about a dozen different companies, we were feeling very frustrated.

We have entertained a few times since our kitchen remodel was completed, and preparation and serving are remarkably easier and more pleasant than in our old space. Three or four people can work together and not get in each other’s way. We appreciate the fact that guests not helping can be close without being in the way of those preparing food. We were concerned about there being enough room for our dining table, but that fear was unfounded – the seating area is more than adequate. With the openness of the design, we sit people at different “overflow” tables and still feel like we’re all together in the same room. What we love just as much is the way the whole living area feels now that it has been opened up, including the pass-through to the living room.
